What the quality options actually mean

After a link resolves you get a list of buttons. The first is labelled Best quality (auto) — that is not a marketing label, it is a specific instruction to the encoder: take the best video stream at 1080p or below, pair it with the best audio track, and merge the two into a single MP4.

The 1080p ceiling is deliberate. TikTok is shot and delivered vertically, and above 1080p the file grows faster than the picture improves on a phone screen. Every remaining button is a raw format TikTok itself offers, listed with its resolution and container. A maximum of eight options are shown — beyond that the list stops being useful.

The watermark, honestly

TikTok serves some clips with the moving username watermark burned into the picture and some without it. When a clean version exists in the formats TikTok publishes, you get it. When the uploader's version only exists with the watermark baked in, no tool can remove it without re-encoding and cropping the image — which visibly damages the video.

So the honest position is: this page gives you the cleanest version TikTok makes available, and does not pretend to erase a watermark that is part of the pixels. Anything promising guaranteed removal on every clip is either cropping your video or overstating what it does.

Saving on iPhone vs Android

The download itself is identical on both. Where they differ is what the browser does with the file afterwards.

On Android, Chrome writes the MP4 straight to your Downloads folder and it appears in the gallery shortly after, once the media scanner picks it up.

On iPhone, Safari saves into the Files app rather than Photos. To get the clip into your camera roll, open Files, find it under Downloads, tap the share icon and choose Save Video. This trips people up constantly — the download worked, iOS simply files it somewhere else by default.

On desktop the file lands wherever your browser normally saves, named download.mp4.

Limits worth knowing

Length: media longer than 30 minutes is rejected outright. Ordinary TikToks are far below this; long livestream replays are what hit it.

Rate: 20 requests per minute per IP address. Normal use never touches this; rapid-fire pasting of a batch of links will.

Timeout: if TikTok has not answered within 20 seconds, the request is abandoned rather than left hanging. Paste again — transient failures are common and usually clear on a retry.

Privacy: the video is streamed through the server to your browser and never written to disk on our side. There is nothing stored to delete afterwards.
